How To Safely Prepare Your Boat For Transport

1. All items inside your boat such as galley utensils, plates, cups etc. should be PROPERLY secured.

2. All depth sounders, compasses, etc. should be removed and secured inside the craft. All ports, hatches  and windows should be locked shut and the locking device taped over.

3. To prevent water damage to cloth or canvas covers, tops and side curtains should be removed prior to shipment. Covers can rip or shred or cause cracks and scratches to the boat during transit. We do not assume responsibility for canvas covers or tops, which remain topside during shipment. Please make sure the covers or tarps are removed and secured in boat prior to pickup.

4. Personal belongings and equipment must be itemized and verified by our driver prior to  shipment. We cannot assume responsibility for missing items not fully accounted for in writing.

5. For safety considerations fuel and water should be no more than ¼ full of fuel.

6. Cabinet doors and drawers and all lockers inside the craft should be secured shut.

7. Plastic or plexiglass fly bridge windshields should be removed and stored inside the craft.

8. The transport of sailboats involves a few additional requirements. Standing rigging, turnbuckles, mastheads and bow lights, antennas, spreaders, wind indicators, wires and mast winches should be removed from the mast - after it is unstepped - and prior to shipment. We do not assume liability for damage attributable to rubbing or chafing by equipment left on the mast during shipment.

9. Loading and unloading the boat on / off of our trailer is the responsibility of the owner of the boat. Owners must make their own arrangements to pay for these services with the marina or storage facility. Power boats 35' L or less can be wet loaded/launched provided there is a boat ramp nearby, we can water launch your boat for an extra charge of $150 for fresh water or $200 for salt water. Sail boats cannot be wet loaded / launched.

10. Over sized vessels will need special permits. Any vessel 9’ wide or over will need wide load / over sized permits. These are anywhere from $20 - $60 per state that we travel through and are ordered the day of your transport (they are only good for 7 days). Our driver will provide you with the actual amount of the permits upon delivery for reimbursement.

We are glad to answer any questions you might have concerning the transportation of your  boat, please do not hesitate to contact us with any other questions.

I just wanted to thank you for helping me get my boat moved across the US. It arrived in great condition.

Also Mack was an extremely professional driver (timely phone calls with location updates), and an even nicer person.

Thanks again, Sean Sullivan

I like dealing with people that do what they say they’re going to do, and it’s getting very hard to find people like that. THANK YOU for being that kind of company with those kind of people working there! Curtis was fantastic, he accommodated my schedule and address changes, and was very helpful and polite. As a matter of fact that goes for everyone I’ve worked with at Interstatehaulers, and you may count me as one of your satisfied customers. I’ll be quite happy to be a reference if you need more!

Best regards, Ed Leicht

Everything went beautifully...Many thanks to you for your friendly and professional service...Feel free to cite me as a positive reference...A special thanks to Dave the driver...,

All the Best, Carter Gebert
